Reed Street Planned Unit Development Meeting

ANC 5B will hold a meeting about the proposed Planned Unit Development (PUD) on Reed Street NE on Wednesday, May 11, at 6:30pm.

The site of the proposed Reed Street development is bounded by the train tracks to the west, Franklin St. to the north, 10th St. to the east, and Rhode Island Avenue to the south. The purpose of this meeting is to give the full Commission the opportunity to ask questions of Hanover Company—the developer for this project—regarding Inclusionary Zoning and any other concerns that may arise.

Residents can view documents and images of the proposed design below. Residents can also view a video recording of a meeting I cohosted with Commissioner Piekara (5B03) in February, at which the developer responded to residents’ concerns.

ANC 5B Special Meeting re: FY21 Budget

This is a meeting to discuss ANC 5B’s budget for FY 2021 (which began October 1, 2020, and ends September 31, 2021). Also up for discussion is ANC 5B’s Quarterly Financial Report for the last quarter of FY 2020 (July-September 2020).

I regret the very late notice of this meeting. Unfortunately, neither I nor our community received timely written notification about this meeting from the meeting host, in apparent violation of D.C. open meetings laws, which require a minimum of 7 days’ notice. D.C. law also requires that the public be given an opportunity to review and weigh in on the ANC’s budget before the Commission adopts it. This law, too, also appears not to have been followed.
